The Capybara Café

Learn About Wildlife. Care About the World Around It.

Conservation education begins with understanding animals in the context of their habitats, ecosystems and the choices people make that affect wildlife.

From animal to habitat

Learning about a species also means learning where it comes from, what resources it depends on and how it fits into an ecosystem.

Responsible language

We distinguish conservation education from direct conservation work. We do not claim that meeting an animal automatically conserves its wild population.

Knowledge can inspire action

A guest who understands an animal’s natural history is better prepared to think critically about habitat protection, wildlife trade and responsible interactions with animals.

Our promise: We do not promise specific animal behavior. Animals are individuals and may choose to engage, explore, rest or take space.
